SOKO Parfums Yuzu Juicebox fragrance campaign created by Mise en Scène

THE BRIEF

How do you make a new fragrance feel culturally relevant before people have smelled it?

SOKO Parfums needed a social-first creative that could make Yuzu Juicebox exciting, credible and worth talking about — without falling into the traditional perfume-ad formula.

THE CREATIVE THESIS

WE DIDN’T MAKE A FRAGRANCE AD. WE MADE SOCIAL PROOF.

AUTHORITY

Kevin’s established fragrance credibility gave Yuzu Juicebox a trusted voice inside the community.

CREDIBILITY

Gabby’s independent creator perspective made the recommendation feel earned, not sponsored.

AUTHENTICITY

A street-interview format that felt native to social rather than a conventional fragrance advertisement.

RETENTION

Fast-paced, social-first editing built around curiosity, interaction, reaction moments and replayability.

THE FORMULA

AUTHORITY + CREDIBILITY + AUTHENTICITY + RETENTION

= CREATIVE PEOPLE ACTUALLY WANTED TO WATCH.

THE RESULT

$80K+

ATTRIBUTED REVENUE · 3 MONTHS

The Yuzu Juicebox creative generated more than $80K in attributed revenue through Meta Ads over the first three months. And it kept working: the social-first concept remains one of SOKO Parfums’ strongest-performing assets, continuing to generate sales nearly a year after release.

The Insight

People don’t trust brands to tell them their product is good. They trust people they already believe. Kevin Truong had become a recognisable voice within Australia’s fragrance community through Fragrance Adventures, while GabbyLovesPerfume brought an independent creator perspective and credibility. So instead of asking “How do we make an ad for Yuzu Juicebox?”, we asked: “How do we make people believe Yuzu Juicebox is worth talking about?”

What We Did

We developed the concept around a simple idea: make the product recommendation feel discovered rather than advertised. We gave Kevin and Gabby a loose framework rather than an overly scripted performance, allowing the interaction to feel spontaneous and native to TikTok and Instagram. The edit was built around an immediate hook, rapid information delivery, reaction moments and replayability — then adapted into paid social creative once the concept proved itself organically.

01 — Developed the Concept

We built the creative around one strategic idea: make the recommendation feel discovered rather than advertised.

02 — Directed the Creators

Kevin and Gabby received a loose framework instead of an overly scripted performance, allowing the interaction to feel spontaneous and native to the platform.

03 — Built for Short-Form

The edit was structured around an immediate hook, rapid information delivery, reaction moments and replayability.

04 — Turned Organic Creative into Performance Creative

Once the concept proved itself socially, we adapted it into paid media — allowing the same idea to work beyond organic reach as a commercial asset.

Why It Worked

It didn’t feel like an ad. The street-interview format looked and felt native to social rather than adapted from traditional advertising. It borrowed existing trust through Kevin and Gabby, created curiosity by letting an interaction unfold, and could scale from organic reach into performance creative. The best-performing ads don’t always look like ads.

The Mise en Scène Approach

Mise en Scène is a Melbourne creative agency building content creation, creator campaigns and paid social creative for brands that want to be worth watching. For SOKO Parfums, that meant bringing creative strategy, social media marketing and short-form video together in a format that could live culturally — and perform commercially.

The Result

The Yuzu Juicebox creative generated more than $80K in attributed revenue through Meta Ads over the first three months. And it kept working: the social-first campaign remains one of SOKO Parfums’ strongest-performing assets and continues to generate sales nearly a year after its original release.
